Library Orientation Classes for all ninth graders. Using the catalog, databases, websites, and easybib.

 

We are back to school and enjoying our classes.
There were 16 teaching days in September.
We taught 25 classes the month of September.
We had 1 day and 2 hours of staff development this month.
We had a bring a bagged lunch and book discussion during one lunch this month.
Mrs. Lopez attended a Mentoring Meeting at Wilder Middle School this month.
We attended one Faculty Meeting and one Leadership Meeting this month.
We sent in a proposal to VAASL to present at our state conference this November.
We had 1 departmental common planning lunch with the Soc.Studies department during one lunch.
We saw Mrs. Alcazar, Mrs. Corbett, Mrs. Russ, Mrs. Gibson, Mrs. Skinner, and Mrs. Farmer's 9th grade English classes for library orientation.
We worked with Mrs. Norris classes, Ms. Tolley's classes and Ms. Farmer's class came in for book check out.

We worked with 22 classes in the month of May.
There was one week of AP testing and two weeks of SOL testing for the month of May.
We met with all 11th grade English classes to introduce the Senior Project in May.

April

We had 16 school days and 1 1/2 day in the month of April.
We taught 42 classes this month in the library.

Mrs. Norris students came in to do research for their capstone projects.

Ms. Tolley's classes came in to do an Egg Hunt Scavenger's hunt on Engineering topics.

National School Library Month (April )and Week (April 13-17)

For each library staff member.





Lunch from Panera Bread provided for the library staff by our very supportive PTA and ending with a delicious cookie on April 16.






The librarians celebrated with the faculty by providing easy listening music and ice cream bowls with assorted toppings during lunches. We appreciate our faculty and all of those that promote the library and collaborate with us throughout the school year.

Wow, we had lots of snow in February. So we combined our blog post with March this month. 

February

There were 13 teaching days in February. We taught 18 classes in the month of February.
Media 1 and Media 2 were used by 6 different teachers 15 times in the month of February. (Mr. Eddins, Mrs. Dickey, Mrs. Matthews, Mrs. Russ, Mr. Hill, Ms. Niemeier)

The librarians did our classroom observations this month. Mrs. Smart observed Mr. Campbell and Mrs. Anderson. Mrs. Lopez observed Mrs. Clark.


Mrs. Fuller's English classes came in to do Poetry Stations.



Mrs. Khimani's classes came in to do a research paper with assistance.


Mrs. Norris's classes came in to do research for their capstone projects.

There was an Athletic Signing in the library this month. 3 students signed to go on and play college level sports.





March

We taught 16 classes with 4 different teachers the month of March. Media 1 and Media 2 were used 25 times by 7 different teachers in March.

Mrs. Lopez observed Mrs. Skinner's English class this month on the 18th.

We started a March Madness with books this month, with voting brackets each Monday.

We taught Mrs. Whitfield's classes how to find information and research on Genetic Disorders.


We had a Poetry Easter Egg Hunt with Mrs. Alcazar's English classes this month.






We taught Mrs. Gage's classes about copyright, fair use, and Google images this month. Click on the link below to see what was taught in the lesson.
